Ski Vacation preparation

Ski vacation can be a great success with proper planning. Knowing what to pack before going on a ski vacation is important to a successful trip and enjoying your ski vacation. Packing as a well getting the packed items from your home to your destination are very important. Some ski items may not easily fit into suitcases, and if you are flying, this may be a challenge (considering the weight, size and, possibly, additional cost).

First, you should know make a list of everything you need for your ski vacation. Then knowing what items are available at your ski destination. Is there a rental shop? How much are the rental fees for skis, boots, and poles? Make rent or buy comparison. If rental fees are reasonable, and you are comfortable with skiing with rented equipment, this could be a viable option and it lessen your burden on packing extra items/equipment, thus making you travel lighter.

However, if you are not comfortable with rented equipment, you have to consider the alternative option. If there are ski shops at your ski vacation destination, get prices on skis, poles, and boots, and find out if they buy sed equipment. If they do  not, find out if there is anyone nearby that does purchase used equipment. Call that place to get an estimate on how much you could get for barely used ski equipment. Then find out the difference between the money you will spend on buying the new ski equipment and the money you will get for selling the used equipment. If the difference is not much more than what it would cost you to rent the equipment, you should go for this option.

Ski suits, ski jackets, and sweaters can be very bulky size-wise, and hard to pack and carry while traveling. These items will take up a lot of room in your suitcase, and leave less room for other items such as clothing and other essentials. For instance if you plan to go on a two week or more vacation, it will be challenging, if not impossible, to fit everything you need into one suitcase, except you are prepared to pay for excess luggage.

Other way to handle the excess luggage is to call the resort where you will be staying and tell them that you need to ship your package to them, prior to your arrival and that you need that package to be there when you arrive. Ask if they will be able to hold the package for you at the desk. Usually and in most cases, they will. Once you are clear with the resort on the pre-arrival package shipping, then prepare the package. Get a box and put all of your ski suits, your ski jacket, and any other bulky items in the box, and ship it to yourself, in care of the resort or lodge. Depending on the destination and time left before you travel date, shipping can be overnight, two days or three days. Depending on the weight of the box, you will usually pay less than fifty dollars ($50) to ship a package within the continental United States, which is  lot less than you would pay an airline for extra baggage.

Learn how to Ski | Ski Vacations

Learn how ski | going on ski vacations:

Learning how to ski before going on a ski vacation helps you and your loved ones prepare for a memorable ski vacation. If you wants to go skiing on your next vacation, and you do  not know how to ski, you can still go ahead and and plan your ski vacation.

Learning how to ski is not that difficult, with interest and you will really enjoying doing it.  It is not necessary or mandatory for you to know the first thing about skiing before you arrive at the ski resort. The knowledge you will need to ski safely is waiting for you at the resort. You can simply be skiing down a mountain after a brief (say an hour of) instruction.

Learning how to ski is very easy and you will gain skiing very skills quickly. Most resorts have a ski instruction centre and the lessons are moderately priced. Group and private lessons are usually available. However, it is advisable to schedule an appointment before you arrive at the resort. This will ensure that you can start the skiing earning session as soon as you arrive at your resort.

Usually the ski instructor starts by showing you how to maneuver around with your equipment. When you are wearing the ski boots, you will be inclined slightly forward, this is to prepared to safely skiing down a mountain. You may find walking in the ski boots a bit challenging the first time, however, it works fine once you learn to walk with your knees slightly bent.

The first maneuver you will learn is called the plow or snow plow. This technique is performed by literally using your skis as a snow plow. You make the back of the skis slowing move outwards, away from your body by applying pressure, and this helpys you to stop. You can guide yourself on skies by bending your knees and leaning in one direction or another, depending on which way you would like to go. These techniques can be learned within an hour, even by a newbie or starter.

The beauty of skiing is that after you have learned how to snow plow, and how to guide yourself on the skis, you are ready to ski! Get on the lift, head up the mountain, and give it a try. Control your speed by snow plowing, go slowly at first. When you want to move faster, draw your skis back in to pick up a little speed, then push them back out into the plow position to control that speed.

As a starter, you should stick to the trails that are designed for beginners. At most resorts, these trails are marked with a green emblem. Blue trails are for intermediate skiers, and after one day of skiing the beginner trails, you may be ready for teh blue trails. The black trails are for the experts. You need to master the skills for the appropriate levels priot to hanlding the trails. Do not use the black trails until you have had acquired the required instructions and skills/experience appropriate for the trails. Move steadily to the appropriate level once you gain the relevant experience and based on your confident level!

Enyou your ski vacations!

Don Williams – Some Broken Hearts Never Mend

Coffee black, cigarette,
start this day like all the rest
First thing ev’ry mornin’ that I do
is start missin’ you

Some broken hearts never mend
Some mem’ries never end
Some tears will never dry
My love for you will never die

Rendezvous in the night,
a willin’ woman to hold me tight
But in the middle of love’s embrace,
I see your face

Some broken hearts never mend …

Don Williams – Listen To The Radio

I guess as a lover I have a ways to go
When someone wants you they should just say it’s so
But you’ll understand if you’ll take my hand
Then we can dance real slow to something on the radio

Listen to the radio, oh listen to the radio
Let’s spend the night together
Baby don’t go, they sing it on the radio

I try to find a way to explain to you
What’s on my mind and not sound so plain to you
but you’ll realise if you close your eyes
the feelings my words can’t show
They’re playing on the radio

Listen to the radio, oh listen to the radio
Let’s spend the night together
Baby don’t go, they sing it on the radio

The words I’d say don’t seem so sound as real
The songs they play, that’s how I really feel

So listen to the radio, oh listen to the radio
Let’s spend the night together baby don’t go
They sing it on the radio

Together and forever

 In the moonlight

I behold her face

Her face glow as shiny stars

It was a dream comes true

I saw seven stars in perfect alignment

From my heart, soul and spirit

There was a message

That we were made for each other

For eternal fulfilment

In sound health, prosperity and long life

I have never felt this way before

I know that with you

I will never look elsewhere

Together and forever

Lonely and Desired heart

Walking along the seashore

I saw a rising wave

The height is taller than the highest mountain

I wonder what this is all about

Then I took a closer look

A precious flower was rising with the wave

The flower is of unique and rare colour

There is sadness on her left eye

The right eye blossom in joy

I wonder what it could be all about

Then the wave carries her to the seashore

I approached her and ask for the misery in her face

She told me a little story

I recognised it is the story of our life

I perceived two hearts vibrating

Then I held her in my hands

Both felt a sense of fulfillment

Then it dawn on both of us that

We’ve searched each other for a long time

But for that moment we realised that

Our lonely hearts have met their desires

It Began At Dawn

I looked at a tall monument

It was in the middle of the desert

The top part looks shaky

It doesn’t seem right and I wonder why

Then I looked at the middle

The column seems cracking

I behold the foundation

Then I realised the base was loose

The foundation was not secured

For it all began at dawn

I looked at the Santa building

It stands firmly in the city centre

Some passers-by say it’s luck

Some say it’s hard work

Some were just bewildered

All acknowledged its firmness and strength

But it all began at dawn

City Girl

City Girl

I worked along a popular downtown street

Two eyes came in contact

One was the unique eye of the rose

One was the gorgeous look of the king

The king approached the princess

Behold, how could this ever be

How could my princess come from the city?

The city considered to be perverted

The king needs a perfect virgin, I thought

Then I decided to explore

Until I found my princess to be the one

A reserved and adorable princess,

In the middle of the city

The purest that comes from the roughest place

My City girl and my princess,

Please come home with me

For you are the best thing I ever loved to have

Choices

Choices

In the quietness of the jungle

The lion roars

The wilderness enraged

The little ones were rattled, and terrified

Then there were echoes

And silence followed

In the midst of the confusion

The calm ones waited patiently

Others ran in confusion

And became preys

It’s everyone’s choice

To respond or react
